== ইতিহাস ==
ভিওসি’র অর্থায়ণে নির্মিত জাহাজগুলোর মাধ্যমে [[অস্ট্রেলিয়া|অস্ট্রেলিয়ায়]] প্রারম্ভিক অভিযান পরিচালিত হয়েছিল। [[ইউরোপ|ইউরোপীয়দের]] প্রথম বসতি স্থাপন ১৬২৯ সালে ভিওসি’র অর্থায়ণে নির্মিত [[Batavia (ship)|বাটাভিয়া]] জাহাজের মাধ্যমে ঘটে। [[জাহাজ]] পরিচালনায় নিযুক্ত অনেক নাবিক বিদ্রোহ করলে তাদেরকে [[execute|প্রাণদণ্ডে]] দণ্ডিত করা হয়। ওটার লুজ নামীয় এক সৈনিক ও জ্যঁ পেলগ্রুম দ্যঁ বাই নামীয় এক কেবিন বয় ওইতিকারা গালি এলাকায় অবস্থিত [[Murchison River|মারচিজন]] নদীমুখ পর্যন্ত জীবিত ছিলেন। পরবর্তীতে তাদের আর দেখা যায়নি।
